RB's motivation: Notepad dress 1/2 done

So another insomnia night spent mainly just hand sewing pieces to the notepad dress. Like seriously I started around 11 am yesterday till 5:30 when I had to go to work. Then I started back on at 1 am and finished around 6 am. So like almost 11 hours or so of just HANDSEWING. Like seriously bro....

SO it started as this. The two different fabrics from Jaden here. The large thinner one I cut up into four size categories of pieces to sew on. Small, medium, medium large, and fairly large. I used actually all of the medium to large pieces. What I didn't use it really stringy like. And Honestly it's not even up to full standard yet.

This is a different fabric that I'm going to use on the neckpiece

And here's some very beginning pieces. LIke maybe 4 on there before I had to go to work.

And so far finished product. Like you can see the layering WAY better in real life with better lighting.

Love the back b/c it builds up well. But I do know for a fact I have to get a petticoat soon, that's a plan for the day. While I actually have to get MORE maybe a yard more of the white fabric or go down to Tricia's to get the full ballgown overwhelming drag on the ground effect. But building on is so much more easy than taking away and fixing mistakes.

Like how it's bothering the shit out of me that I didn't put the tuxedo things at an angle like the picture and continue to ignore it while the black makes it stand out MORE.
But Yes added the black dripping. Know I will have to add MORE eventually but I got to have some fun with the very puffy very thick, tar like fabric paint from before with Vani's leggings. Very good buy.
Like the back much better...

So far I'm fairly tired from the long task of JUST SEWING. Like menial is my name but not menial forever on end with no end in sight

Today will be a shopping day hopefully.
BTW Guardians of the Galaxy is AMAZING.

RB's motivation: NOTEPAD BEAUTY DRESS :D

So this is the piece di resistance (idk french) I got really far on Notepad! Mainly the dress, I'm officially moving onto the fun parts after this shit!

So Here I cut the bar napkin into two parts and sew them to look like folds on a waist belt. That was easy. And I got to save the rest of the bar napkin for the neck piece!

Here's a blurry pic of both planning it out on the dress and one finished piece together. I really just set it out on the dress, pinned where I needed and sewed it on. Nothing really fancy, it's me....

Pretty much just did the same for the other side, cept couldn't hide as much error b/c it was the fold on top. Also I do know the folds are crooked to the middle of the shirt, I just hope nobody else gets anal.....please no death the kids at Daisho please

(don't feel like flipping the image right now, but this is a mirror selfie)

Then I moved onto the black sides. By cutting a black shirt with medium sleeves. Though I would be using both sleeves but really it was barely even one. I have enough to make elbow sleeves for the gloves!

I forget how small I am compared to normal people sometimes......

And here are the sides completed. I realized I should have pushed them more towards the front, was just following the seams on the dress. I can always add more. So far I'm pretty pleased though

Cause you can't see the black stripes at all in the front view, which idk if that's good or bad with fashion

Here's the whole thing thrown on a chair so far. With the buttons and stuff. All the itty bitty things are done. The only things left for the dress are THE FUN PARTS: 1. building the skirt (basically meat dress without dying fabric) 2. the the gooey bafric paints 3. Get a petti coat but eh that's jsut money!

So fucking excited have no idea

RB's motivation: Notepad progress (baby steps)

So making first steps on the Don't hug me I'm scared Notepad dress. This is probably the costume I'm most excited for, and ironically will be the least recognizeable. But right now I don't care because I LOVE this design so much. And it's from an artist I loooove, and have been watching for over a year now. I don't even fucking use tumblr but I go on just for her

For those that don't recall, this bridal beauty. I'm not even necessarilly part of the fandom, I don't mind it one bit. I actually cosplay on more of a design and visual calling more than really a relation factor to a character. Not that I don't like this dhmis video, I love it actually. But it's just I heard about it from Mookie000 and the love of her design. And she's the only reason I watched the fucking thing.

Besides psychology and learning techniques. Onto cosplay WIP!
I decided to use this dress I had in my closet, never wore, ironically I bought it cause it fit. And I didn't want to sacrifice it to become a meat dress. That feeling is gone now though and it will become something better!

As you can see the fit is more of a frock than a ballgown. I'm moving the waist up from the design to fit my body type better. Because honestly I got some pudge, I'm not embarrassed to show it off. I wore a hillbilly crop top just a few days ago because of a heatwave. I just know based on my height they don't sell formfitting, nonslutty cute white dress, for petite girls with pudge in their tits and ass. That's a fact. I've checked.

SO WE ARE IMPROVISING TO BE CHIBI. Here I also hated the spaghetti straps, they were actually painful because they couldn't handle holding up my tits in certain lesbian wedding gay club parades. So I did what I've been wanting to do forever. I took the weird ribbon in the back and turned them into straps
First successfull run on the sewing machine! I can't sew straight but I don't care! I'm learning!

Also took the small ribbons in the front off, can't really see here, but they are gone

And here I'm also adjusting, since limited room, the tuxedoish part at the waist. Gonna try and disguise the double waist cinch thing with the folding. Here's a size ref from some earrings (given to lulu) just to figure out where the buttons would go.

Also props for stealing cloth napkins (accidentally) from work three days in row. One will go to cosplay as a lovely reminder of my first job. I'll return the rest I promise. Will figure out a way to fold these more neatly but here's for reference of future.

Next will be the black sides, and the real buttons. And maybe soon the fun part of the rag skirt! (really looking forward to that part)

UPDATE: Small sketches to better explain my idea. Chibi with frock sort of waistline to the left, move up of tuxedo part on the right. I'm opting out of the middle fold, but it was sharpie so can't really redo anymore

Did you know mookie designed purple veins on the boots and gloves? I didn't! Fabric paint I'm awaiting you honey

Oh jesus got to figure out that pencil headpiece. It came to me once in a fever dream and left me forever
