New channel, new era

Hey, so, we need to talk. We as a SRP group kind of fell off the face of the earth a year or two back. Its understandable.

Sharon is pursuing her own thing as a cosplayer
R.B. is doing her own thing over in MKE as an artist
Lulu is like struggling like no tomorrow to get through design school
Tricia is living her life with hopes of creating content soon enough
And here's the tea... we had a bit of a falling out... an unofficial but legit falling out with one of the founders of SRP.
It happens, we're still young. But you know what, as Lulu completes her last semester of school, she's planning a comeback to all the things which is ambitious, but she's definitely proven the last four years that she can do it. Either way, enjoy our first video marking our new era.

Biopic For Everyy Occasion

Biopics For Every Occasion

When you feel like a failure: "Joy"

For those days when you genuinely feel like nothing is working and you don't need an overtly "under dog is going to triumph" story, Joy is it.

Our titular character's struggles are all too real. Dreamer with a barely functioning divorce ridden family trying to succeed(sound familiar anyone???). You know the ending will be generally good, so no worries on that front. You just need someone to remind you that its going to be hell before you get to your happy ending.

When you need visual therapy: "The Theory Of Everything"

Now, the story line for this one was actually not my(or R.B's) favorite. But visually it relaxes you and practically transports you to the 60's/70's.

Its so soothing, you almost forget how unsettling it is to be watching a love story unfold that is destined for a tragic end.

When you need courage to stand up for yourself: "Big eyes"

I'm a sucker for 50's/60's setups and Big Eyes does not disappoint. The story reminds us how easy it is to get swept up in the little white lies and our own trust for the people we love. Never the less, Big Eyes reminds us that the truth will catch up to you and that you should ultimately take crap from no one! Sure it might take some time, but its never to late to take back control for your life.

When you need to set new relationship goals: "Hitchcock"

Its almost no surprise that behind every great man is a remarkable woman. And that's definitely true in Hitchcock's case. It was a pleasant surprise that Alma Hitchcock was the real star of the movie. Her genuine love and devotion to her her husband and his work is absolutely inspiring. No joke, Alma redefines what being someone's partner is all about.

Honorable mention- "The Iron Lady"
Though her marriage is not the focus of this biopic, Margaret Thatchers husband sets some pretty awesome #relationshipgoals for us as well.

When you need some good music: "James Brown; Get on up"

There were many contenders for this one, beilieve me(though some might make apperances later on". This is not so much of a light biopic. The story is pretty intense at points and story telling is unique to say the least. But James Brown's music shines brightly throughout and makes you want to get on up and dance around.

When you think you're dreaming too big: "The walk"

I wasn't a fan of the story telling and R.B. could rant about our main characters asshole tendencies, but we gotta admit, this is the film for dreamers.
They tell you to dream big. And you should, but gotta channel your inner princess Tiana and work your ass off for it, convince others of your dream, go the distance, break a few laws, redefine whats possible, and then you might just achieve that dream.

Cosplay Diaries: making Jay Garrick's hat, Golden Age DC

Hello again!

Welcome back everyone! I've been unusually active these past two days so I decided to share some of the first progress pictures of my Jay Garrick hat that I will be using next month for my female Jay Garrick cosplay!

Now I'm talking Golden age Garrick!

Here's what I got so far!

Awesome huh? Ok ya I know, it needs a lot of work still!

Here's what I used though!

  • Balloon

  •  I'm going to make this predominantly out of paper mache so I made some. (one cup water, one cup flour, touch of salt)

  •  And of course, random junk mail you don't need.

Stay tuned for more on this hat!

Cosplay Diaries: Taiwan Axis Powers Hetalia makeup test

Hello!

I know its been a while, but things got busy, life happened, school started, and my finances changed a little bit!

But I still ordered a few wigs and though I won't be able to finish Taiwan this time around, I decided to do a makeup test anyways!

Any slut! Should I make a makeup tutorial for this even though I won't have the cosplay done in time?

Cosplay Diaries: The road to AMKE 2016 and a major come back

Cosplay Diaries: The road to AMKE 2016 and a major come back.

Yup! You read that correctly! I am determined this season to really push myself creatively. No more excuses, no more putting this off, this is what makes me happy. This is something I want to do. This is something I will make time for. And I'm ready.

Ok maybe not THAT ready. But ready enough to convey my feelings about this through my first blog post since what? March? April?

I'm doing it! I'm still in the process of moving, figuring out my school related stuff for next semester, and all sorts of other stuff, but I want to do this! I feel like even maybe vlogging some of it???? Maybe! I'll work on that!

But enough about that, lets get to it! My biggest challenge this time around include,

- A cosplay from Undertale that I can not recall right now
- Taiwan from Axis Powers Hetalia!
- A fem Jay Garrick from DC
- And possibly, possibly, leafeon!
- And even more on that possibly scale, Super Sonico????

Just from this list I know I'm going to experience a lot of challenges and I'm so excited for that!
